Five Questions:

1. If you could meet any artist (past/present) who would it be? And why?

At this moment I would surely say, Moebius. The whole universe that he created around him and the sensations they convey made me fall in love from the first moment I discovered him.

As artists of the present, James Jean is one of my favorites right now. Each of his works is a masterpiece and they are very inspiring. Then I would also love to meet many musicians, be in the moments of composition and recording. Maybe I could extrapolate some of that work process to illustration.

But well, sometimes I also think about what is best not to know your idols in case it is disappointing later, but who knows haha

2. Did your childhood environment have any influence on your creativity?

When I was little, I saw my older brother draw. So, like many, I tried to look like him. With him, I began to learn to draw and the pleasure of drawing remained thereafter. I watched many cartoons and series and always tried to copy all the characters on paper. I appreciate all those cartoons that show that as a child helped me to move the muscle of the imagination. The people around me also encouraged me a lot when they saw that in that ability I stood out above the others, so I was motivated to continue drawing.

3. Do you have any tips or inspiring words for others?

A good breakfast, loud music, and a little dance to warm up. If you don't know how to dance, you pretend that you do, and you believe it.

Apart from that, surely the same as most say, but because it is true. A lot of dedication and patience. Do not stop looking for new things and copy a lot. Until that mix comes out the desired style that we all look for. The things I drew years ago surely differ quite a bit from what I do now. For a while, I have been obsessed with an artist and I only liked what he did. And I wanted to do the same as him. Until I discover another and fall in love with that new artist and repeat again. Inevitably you learn from everyone and that helps a lot to get your own style. Be it colors, work process, line work, themes, etc. Something is taken from each one... Although the style is always constantly evolving.

And take advantage of the networks. The contacts you can get through these. Try to take care of your profile. It has helped me a lot personally, although obviously I still have a lot to do.

4. What does “being creative” mean to you?

Looking to do something new. Try to learn new techniques. Search for new genres of music, cinema, literature, etc. I think having an open mind is important. Be willing to try new things in every possible area. This can also be used for the previous question about advice. To be creative is to want to move forward, avoid getting stuck. We all know that in this world and professions of this kind we never stop learning so... draw or die hahaha

5. On a lighter note what Muppet character best fits your personality? And why?

I love playing the drums. And sometimes my friends have told me that they have been surprised to see me playing drums. I am usually a quiet person. But if you let me get in front of the drums, I can be perfect like an animal hahaha. So, I would like to be Animal. Outside there I could not say, maybe some Piggy haha. But it would be funny to know what my friends would say. Oh please, I hope they choose me a good character.
