Five Questions
1. If you could meet any artist (past/present) who would it be? And why?
If we could meet someone, we’d like to meet DAIM. He’s always caught our eye with his ways of defying gravity and curving the space. His work is a great combination of street art and graphic elements and always stands out. We bet he’s someone we can learn a lot from, not only about graffiti and art, but about inspiration as well.
2. Did your childhood environment have any influence on your creative?
Of course, it did. Everything had, has and will have influence on everything we do. And childhood is probably the most susceptible period in our lives. We’ve grown up in times and a country when staying outdoors playing with your friends was the most common thing. This left us loving the fresh air, freedom and unlimited and careless possibilities every day had to offer. And naturally made us strive for this easiness and lightness in everything else we do afterwards.
3. Do you have any tips or inspiring words for others?
Always look around for inspiration. It’s so easy to get your hands on something beautiful – around you, on the web, in the book lying on your desk. It’s there, you just have to look for it.
4. What does “being creative” mean to you?
“Being creative” is very subjective. Each person has an interpretation of their own and a different read on the topic. To us being creative in our work as a studio means to outdo ourselves in every task and project. Try to be better every time you do something – not only when it comes to work, but every time you get a chance.
5. On a lighter note what Muppet character best fit your personality? And why?
The Muppets weren’t really a thing here, so we can’t name too many of them (except for maybe Kermit the Frog). If we can go for anyone else, we’d chose Samurai Jack – he’s determined, focused, patient, caring and driven by his love for family, friends and the good. He’s also very skillful and adaptable. What more can you possibly want from an animation character ☺️?
I’ll share a line from one of my favorite poet’s, Theodore Roethke – “Put yourself in rising waters, the flood will teach you to swim”.

Questions
1. If you could meet any artist (past/present) who would it be? And why?
Bazalel, described in the book of Exodus from the Hebrew Bible as the chief artisan of the Tabernacle and the designer the Ark of the Covenant. Can’t think of a cooler gig than that.
2. Did your childhood environment have any influence on your creativity?
I grew up in a family steeped in Italian immigrant history and ideals. The connections to another world and culture opened my mind and heart to a larger reality – and stirred in me a deep appreciation for a creative life.
3.What subjects inspire you?
Spirituality, theology, sociology, anthropology, art history.
4. What does “being creative” mean to you?
Being creative is to be human. While we are not all artists, we all share at some level the ability to make something material from a thought or an idea. There is nothing more awe inspiring than that.

Questions
1. If you could meet any artist (past/present) who would it be? And why?
There are too many to name! More so than any one person, it's great to constantly meet and talk to all kinds of artists and designers across disciplines, whether it's folks whose work I already know and admire, or people whose work you discover as you get to know them. There's always so much to learn from everyone!
2. Did your childhood environment have any influence on your creativity?Absolutely! Every place I've lived or visited has influenced the work I create. Growing up in a village in Switzerland, I took a lot of inspiration from surrounding nature, from Alpine flora to seasonal crops in fields, as well as architectural details in cities and towns.
I was also very fortunate to have a family that supported my creativity, and excellent art classes in school that taught me about technique and a variety of mediums.
3. Do you have any tips or inspiring words for others?Find time to be alone and silent for at least 20 minutes every day.
I'm inspired by the quiet details of my surroundings: I love to focus on what may otherwise be overlooked in our busy lives, visually extracting details from their context, and stripping them down to their essential textures and lines, to the point of abstraction.
There's something really exciting about reproducing what you've noticed into a monochromatic, simplified pattern, and hearing what others see in it: Ultimately, it shows the universality of patterns surrounding us, and how core designs repeat themselves, worldwide, across nature and man-made creations alike.
4. What does “being creative” mean to you?
A person finds himself in a state of creativity when, while creating, something is fully in contact with the deepest part of himself. Most of the time we are "constructive" and not creative. Being constructive means putting together the things that are known and experienced in an original way. Being creative means finding something completely new. It is a very abused word in today's communication. Creativity is a state of grace that happens every now and then and has no fixed rules. For the rest of the time, we live on the income of these pure moments, being dignified constructive.
5. Do you have any tips or inspiring words for others?
Something that's been on my mind a lot lately is the importance of diversifying your efforts if you want to be an independent creative/artist/designer. That can mean a lot of things and can vary for everybody, but essentially applies to things like your online presence (not relying too heavily on any one platform), your medium (staying curious about new programs and techniques and continuing to grow), and your income streams (from illustration work to print sales to private fine art commissions to speaking and teaching gigs).

Questions
1. If you could meet any artist (past/present) who would it be? And why?
Wow! This is difficult, there are many artists I would love to talk to Hayao Miyazaki, Akira Toriyama, Moebius, Michelangelo, M.C Escher ... Difficult to choose just one, can we have dinner together?
2. Did your childhood environment have any influence on your creativity?
Yes, sure. Youth is something that shapes us forever and whose memories from the warm nucleus of our being. My father has always helped me to develop my creativity, playing with me, buying comics (even the ones I didn't know but then I would fall in love with). Generally, I had a very supportive environment in my youth.
The things I saw as a child are still the ones that touch me the most and that somehow influence my current job.
3. Do you have any tips or inspiring words for others?Find time to be alone and silent for at least 20 minutes every day.
Regarding art, I would say to young designers not to follow the trends of the moment but to seek their own authentic voice.

Gonzo the Great
I like that it is the only Muppets whose species is not exactly known; it is impossible to label it!

What does “being creative” mean to you?
It's an urge. I don't think about that. InIt is part of who and what I am and I just have to let out all the stuff that comes in my mind at night and make it real.

1. If you could meet any artist (past/present) who would it be? And why?
Your first question is tough ahah! If I could go in the past, I really would like to meet Gustave Doré for his amazingly detailed engravings! He was a very productive artist and I'm still curious how he was so fast to draw. In the present I would love to meet artists such as James Jean, Katsuhiro Otomo, Shintaro Kago, Suehiro Maruo, Tsutomu Nihei... Many japanese artists who came from the manga. As you can see black and white works is something very special to me.
2. Did your childhood environment have any influence on your creative?
Yes off course I think the environment where your grow up is something very important about the creative choices of the future. I was raised in a family where art is not something central but still quite important. I remember my Dad taking my sister and me to exhibitions since I was maybe 5 or 6. I was not interested in art before a few years after but I'm pretty it has an influence on me so thank you daddy ahah!
3. Do you have any tips or inspiring words for others?
What keeps me inspired is making researches, drawings or music’s every day. Because work comes with work and it's the same about ideas. The ideas come to me when I experiment. And so on. But the music is also something really inspiring, sometimes it guides me in my way to draw.
I don't really have tips, staying curious and open-minded is already something really good.
4. What does “being creative” mean to you?
Pablo Picasso said, "Bad artists copy, good artists steal". Art is something very cyclic in my opinion and every artist has been inspired by someone else at some point in his life. When he says "steal", I think it means taking the main concept and bring it further. To me, the creative people has the idea to think again some already existing concept (because who can invent every time he's drawing?). He's making something really new and totally different at some point that nobody except him knows from what he's been inspired by.
5.On a lighter note what Muppet character best fit your personality? And why?
Sorry I never watched this show I guess I'm too young ahah! But from what I see, maybe Floyd Pepper!

1. If you could meet any artist (past/present) who would it be? And why?David Lynch. I'd like to ask him where he got the idea for the blue box in Mulholland Drive. I made a blue box as a piece of art about 2 years before seeing the film and wrote it into a story that informed a few of my paintings in which it appears. When I later saw the film and Betty pulls it out of her handbag it freaked me out. I do a lot of meditation, as does Lynch, and I feel we both may have pulled the same idea out of the collective unconscious somehow.

1. If you could meet any artist (past/present) who would it be? And why?
Probably Michelangelo, because besides being an extraordinary artist, he was a great scholar, and this has always fascinated me. If I had the opportunity, I'd like to know how his work process worked.
2. Did your childhood environment have any influence on your creative?
Yes, because when I was a child, the facilities of the present day didn’t yet exist, so a lot of things used our imagination more to have fun and this has greatly developed my creativity. For example, I watched Utraseven and Ultraman and didn’t have dolls in that era, so I drew them in paper, cut and play, each episode was a different character. TV in my childhood was a great font of inspiration.
3. Do you have any tips or inspiring words for others?
Be persistent, practice your art every day and watch everything around you, as it can serve as a source of inspiration.
4. What does “being creative” mean to you?
Is to be able to absorb information of the world around him and to be able to transform into something totally new
5. On a lighter note what Muppet character best fit your personality? And why?
I think Kermit, the frog, because he is friendly, calm and relaxed

Oh yes, it is!! I grew up reading comics, watching cartoons, having action figures, etc. It was really a good childhood moment lol
3. Do you have any tips or inspiring words for others?

I always believe if you believe in what you are doing. it will be a day that all your hard work paid off with an unexpected outcome :) Good things happen for those who believe

Feature Artist of the month is Killamari | Norcross, GA
It would be Lauren YS, for sure. I've been following her work for a long time and I'm always on the lookout for one of her murals whenever I travel. I just really dig the characters and imagery she uses in her work. I don't know what you got to eat or drink to think of the stuff she does, but I never get bored of seeing her art.
2. Did your childhood environment have any influence on your creative?
Yes, it did. I grew up around a lot of gang graffiti. Where I grew up there was a big rivalry between the Latin gangs and the Asian gangs. They left their marks all around town so you wouldn't step onto the wrong street. My cousin and I walked back to his house after school every day, and along the way, we'd always see fresh pieces go up. We also always stopped at this one bodega next to an antique shop, where they had comics for real cheap. The owners were Vietnamese and always hooked us up with comics and cigarettes cause we're half Vietnamese I found an issue there, of Spider-Man - Maximum Carnage - part 12 of 14. The first comic I ever bought with my own money and the cover inspired me to get into inking and drawing.
3. Do you have any tips or inspiring words for others?
Make sure that the reason you create, is for yourself. If you love to make art, or play music, or whatever, keep doing it because you love it. The second you start to treat it like work, it's going to feel like a job, and with that comes stress, and doubt, and all kinds of mess that can cause you to lose your way. Even if you do it for a living, you have to make sure you're creating for yourself first. As far as trying to get into the industry or be a professional: be prolific and create non-stop. You never know who's looking, and eventually, you're going to meet the right person or be seen by the right audience, that will be hungry to see more of your work. Experiment and try new things to stay fresh. You might surprise yourself by stepping outside of your comfort zone. Also, don't compare yourself to other artists. I think that's the number one mistake I see new artists make, and they discourage themselves from moving forward too early in the game.
4. What does “being creative” mean to you?
I think creativity can be as simple as just having an idea. But "being" creative is taking those ideas and translating them into mediums that can be shared with others. It could be a digital illustration, a piece of music, a mural, or even a badass plate of food. I think it's about creating something from nothing, or taking something that's there, and shaping it into something different because your brain just had to get it out somehow.
5. On a lighter note what Muppet character best fits your personality? And why?
Kermit was my favorite as a kid because I was really into reptiles and amphibians growing up. But I'd have to go with Rizzo the Rat. He's mad chill, and dude likes to eat. Also, I was born in the year
